Sandra leads the Mental Health Systems and Services Group in the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research’s Policy and Epidemiology Group.

She has qualifications in psychology and public health. Before joining QCMHR, Sandra worked at the Australian Schizophrenia Research Bank and interned in Mental Health Policy and Service Development at the World Health Organization.

Her research focuses on the use of evidence to inform mental health policy and the delivery of mental health services in Australia and in low- and middle-income countries. This work aims to answer policy-relevant research questions and includes applied research for government and non-government agencies to inform the planning of mental health services. Sandra is also the Technical Lead in the team responsible for the development and refinement of the National Mental Health Service Planning Framework and the training of users.
