Overview

Andrea Baker is a clinical nurse consultant and the current Research Manager of the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research’s Clinical Support Unit. Andrea has worked in health for 27 years, gaining clinical expertise in a variety of areas including mental health.

More recently, Andrea has developed clinical expertise in research. In 2010 she coordinated a high profile national schizophrenia research study (Survey of High Impact Psychosis – SHIP). She is currently coordinating three clinical trials at QCMHR headed by Professor John McGrath, known as the Cadence Trials.

Research directions

Led by Andrea, the Clinical Support Unit provides clinical and research support for all QCMHR streams that deal with clinical studies. The Unit provides a high level of technical supervision for issues including ethics, clinical research training, clinical studies coordination and other related matters.
